Makabagong Talahuluganan ng mga Pilipino (The New Dictionary for Filipinos)

Huling update: July 30, 2014
Tinipon at linikha ni Rob San Miguel. Ito ay isang uri lamang ng satiriko at kung sakali man gamitin ng maraming Pilipino ang mga salitang ito, hindi ko po kasalanan.

Iyakris (I-ya-kris, pangngalan / noun)
Isang baryasyon ng salitang "iyakin"
Etymology: classified information, 28 July 2014

Ibig-sabihin:
Isang taong mahilig umiyak o madalas umiiyak sa espesyal na okasyon o pagdiriwang na dinadaluhan ng maraming tao. (A person who likes to cry or often cries during special occasions or celebration attended by many people).

Halimbawa:
A: "Anong nangyari kay Luisa? Bakit umiyak kanina habang kinakantahan ng “Happy Birthday” si Jaime? Hindi naman niya iyon kakilala?"

B: "Parang hindi mo kilala si Luisa. Alam mo naman iyakris iyon."

Magigi (Ma-gi-gi, pang-uri / adjective)
Magigi, mas magigi, napakagigi
Etymology: classified information, 4 March 2014

Ibig-sabihin:
Babaero at malibog.  Ginagamit lamang ang pang-uring ito sa mga matatandang lalake na may edad na 60 at pataas (Womanizer and lecher; this adjective is solely used to describe men who are 60 years old and up)

Halimbawa:
“Bilib naman ako kay Lolo Andres, 80 anyos na, may kabit pa pala. Magigi talaga ang matandang iyan.”

Nabongbong (Na-bong-bong, pandiwa / verb) past tense
Salitang ugat: "bongbong" (nabongbong - binobongbong - bobongbongin)

Etymology: Taken from the name of Senator Bongbong Marcos who stated that he was a victim of a syndicate and his name was used, without his knowledge, to fund dubious projects using money that he did not know exist.  "Hindi ko alam na may pondong ganyan…Paano nangyari ito? Sinong involved? Walang sinasabi sa akin at kahit sino sa opisina ko,” Bongbong said. September 15, 2013

Ibig-sabihin:
Pagnanakaw ng napakalaking salapi mula sa isang matalinong tao (kalimitan ay nagtapos sa isang prestihiyosong unibersidad) subalit hindi alam ng biktima na may malaki pala siyang pera.  (Stealing a large sum of money from an intelligent person, usually a graduate of a prestigious university, but the person does not know that he has such large amount of money.)

Halimbawa: “Nakakalungkot naman nangyari kay Atty. Dela Cruz. Hindi man lang niya namalayan, nabongbong na pala siya.”

Nakalalani (Na-ka-la-la-ni, pang-uri / adjective)
Etymology: Taken from the name of Congresswoman/actress Lani Mercado. When asked about her opinion regarding the possible abolition of the PDAF (Priority Development Assistance Fund, popularly and notoriously known as “pork barrel”), she said that she opposed the abolition and added, “Basta ‘wag lang manghihingi sa amin ang mga tao!” (As long as people don’t ask from us). Ibig-sabihin:
Isang pag-aalinlangan, o isang pakiramdam na hindi madaling humingi ng pabor, lalo na sa usapin sa salapi, dahil baka masita o mapagalitan. (A feeling of discomfort, uneasiness or awkwardness when asking for a favor, especially relating to money, because you might be scolded or reprimanded for asking.)

Halimbawa: “Gusto ko sanang humingi ng pera kay Tito, kaya lang nakalalani.
