Run into
to meet someone unexpectedly. Sentence: I ran into my old friend at the train station.

Translations

  • Chinese: 偶遇 (ǒu yù) / 碰到 (pèng dào) – 碰到 is more common in casual speech. French: tomber sur / croiser (informal, everyday use)
  • Korean: 우연히 마주치다 (uyeonhi majuchida) / 우연히 만나다 (uyeonhi mannada)
  • Japanese: 偶然会う (gūzen au) / ばったり会う (battari au – casual)
  • Portuguese (Brazil): encontrar por acaso / topar com
