English Lesson (Listening): "Problem Solving Process", Version 2

Vocabulary 1

A. GATHER
recueillir. Example: I gather all the necessary data. (Je recueille toutes les données nécessaires.)

B. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDES
/pronounced as guy-de/  guides de dépannage. Example: The troubleshooting guide helped me repair my computer. (Le guide de dépannage m’a aidé à réparer mon ordinateur.)


C. TEAM-RELATED PROBLEMS
  problèmes liés à l'équipe. Example: It is difficult to solve team-related problems. (Il est difficile de résoudre les problèmes liés à l'équipe.)


Guide Questions
1. What does the speaker say about problems?
2. How does the speaker solve problems?
3. How does the speaker solve technical and team-related problems?


Vocabulary 2

A. ROOT CAUSE cause principale, cause première. Example: We need to find the root cause of the error. (Nous devons trouver la cause principale de l’erreur.)

B. HANDLE (verb)
gérer. Example: I handle various problems at work. (Je gère divers problèmes au travail.)

C. MISS (verb)
– To not see, catch, or experience something. Ne pas voir, attraper ou vivre quelque chose.
Examples:
I missed the bus because I woke up late. French: J’ai raté le bus parce que je me suis levé tard.

I missed a small error in the code, which caused a bigger issue in the system later.
French: J'ai raté une petite erreur dans le code, qui a causé un problème plus important dans le système par la suite.

D. COLLABORATE
collaborer. Example: The two teams collaborated to finish the project quickly. French: Les deux équipes ont collaboré pour terminer le projet rapidement.
