The
Luneta Hotel was built in 1918 and it is one of my favorite old buildings in Manila. Throughout the years, I have discovered that private companies and
government officials carelessly allowed the destruction of Manila’s many old
monuments and buildings. I miss the days
when I still saw some old Art Deco buildings along the streets of Manila. Although I spend most of my days in Quezon
City now, I still long for the Manila of my youth. Last August 26, aside from venting
my anger along with the multitudes in Rizal Park, I made a point to visit an
old friend. Thankfully, she has gotten
better with age and I heard she is being restored. Here are some of my pictures in colored and
in black and white. (Using Olympus E-410)
