TOEIC Module 2024: Part 4 - Listening #2



Vocabulary

A. Disrupt (verb) – To interrupt or disturb something. Example: The loud noise disrupted my sleep.

B. Serotonin (noun)
– A chemical in the brain that affects mood. Example: Serotonin helps people feel happy and calm.

C. Neurotransmitter (noun)
– A chemical that sends messages in the brain. Example: Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps with movement.

D. Prevalent (adjective)
– Common or widespread. Example: Cold weather is prevalent in winter.

E. Mimic (verb)
– To copy someone’s actions or speech. Example: The child mimicked his teacher’s voice.

F. Overcome (verb)
– To succeed after a problem or challenge. Example: She overcame her fear of speaking in public.

A. Streamline (verb) - Make a process more efficient and effective (Rationaliser)
Sample Sentence: We need to streamline our approval process.
French Translation: Nous devons rationaliser notre processus d'approbation.

B. Real-time tracking
- Monitoring data as it is received and updated instantly. (Suivi en temps reel)
Sample Sentence: The new software allows for real-time tracking of shipments.
French Translation: Le nouveau logiciel permet le suivi en temps réel des expéditions.
